Our Universal Range of Bookcases is a combination of Laminex carcass with steel shelves, providing the look of a Laminex bookcase with the flexibility of a clever shelf system that allows 1 Shelf to be used 3 different ways without the need for additional brackets.
By simply positioning the shelf support pins in different configurations the shelf can be used as a 45 Degree Display Shelf, Flat Shelf or Uptilt Shelf anywhere throughout the unit. Your setup options are limitless without the need for additional brackets.
The top of the unit has a half shelf. This half-shelf is perfect for displaying signage or can be used for additional book display.
The price for the unit includes:

The single-sided units are supplied on a 50mm plinth base.
We recommend that all single sided bookcases be attached to a wall. Please note that delivery fees do not include affixing bookcases to walls.
All Universal bookcase units are made to order, locally in Perth, WA. They are backed by a 10 year warranty.
The 1200mm high unit meets WA Dept of Education Library Shelving Recommendations for Primary School libraries.
Additional shelves and clip on acrylic front facing shelves (for front facing display) can be ordered separately.

Colour:
- The bookcase can be made in any of the commercial Laminex colour range – see Laminex colour charts for options
(Category 1 is the most economical range).
- The metal shelves come standard in either White Satin or Charcoal
(Other shelf colours are available for large quantities)

Shelf Clearances – Flat Shelf Configurations:
3 Shelves per bay – 2 x steel shelves 1 x base of the bookcase as a shelf the smallest shelf clearance will be: 310mm H (will fit most* fiction, non-fiction & picture books collections)
3 Shelves per bay – 3 x steel shelves the smallest shelf clearance will be: 310mm H (will fit most* fiction, non-fiction & picture books collections)
4 Shelves per bay – 3 x steel shelves and 1 x base of the bookcase as a shelf the smallest shelf clearance will be: 225mm H (this shelf clearance would only suit very small series / fiction novels)
4 Shelves per bay – 4 x steel shelves the smallest shelf clearance would be: 225mm H (this shelf clearance would only suit very small series / fiction novels)
* please note that this is a guide only, based on average book collections, you will need to assess your own collection to confirm if the shelf clearances are appropriate for your library.
Lead time:
Shelving units are made to order in Perth and will take approximately 6 weeks.
Delivery to Perth Metro and Surrounds:
Shelving will be delivered fully assembled and shelves installed on-site. Please advise if your delivery area has stairs or other obstacles that would make it difficult for the delivery of fully assembled bookcases.
Delivery does not include attaching shelving to walls – if you require this service, please contact us for a quote.
Free delivery and assembly for Perth metro.
A delivery fee will be charged for surrounding areas and will cover assembly. Delivery charge will be displayed at checkout.
Delivery to WA Regional Areas:
Delivery to areas within a 2-3 hours radius of Perth metro are available for assembled shelving units. Please contact us for a quote for delivery.
Delivery outside of a 2-3 hours radius of Perth will be delivered flat-packed and require self-assembly by customer. Assembly instructions are provided. Pricing for delivery can be provided by quote. Please contact us for a quote.
All other states of Australia:
At this time, we cannot ship shelving units interstate.
New toppling furniture standards introduced by the ACCC recommend that any bookcase higher than 68.6cm is considered a toppling risk. Therefore, we recommend that our customers anchor any bookcase higher than 68.8cm to either the wall or floor.
The attachments required will depend on the wall or floor you are attaching the bookcase too. These items have not been supplied.
Any delivery fee and any free delivery does not include the attaching of bookcases to a wall or floor.
Perth Metro customers can request a quote for installation costs.
